Pranotherapy: what is this natural therapy?
A small handbook to better understand what pranotherapy is thanks to the experience of a psychosomatic pranotherapist.
Pranotherapy: what is this natural therapy
What is Pranotherapy. Pranotherapy is an alternative therapy with very ancient roots: the term is composed of PRANA which in Sanskrit means “vital breath” or “vital energy” and the word “therapy”. How is Pranotherapy done? Its application is done by laying the hands of the pranotherapist on the patient’s body at a distance of a few centimeters or by putting his hands on organs, on the chakra points, or by following the meridian points of traditional Chinese medicine , as it is also done for Acupuncture and Shiatsu. Pranotherapy is used to recreate or revitalize the healing energy of each living being, as homeopathy does, giving the human body the chance to react to the disease, reducing infections , irritations, inflammations thus helping the Immune System to restore homeostasis.
Often we talk about the difference between Pranotherapy and Reiki, well in Pranotherapy there is a passage of prana, the energy of the operator who through his hands is transmitted into the patient’s body, in reiki instead, the operator is considered a bridge between universal energy and the patient.
Who is the Pranotherapist?
He is a person who possesses an energy, a vital electromagnetic field stronger than the plurality of people; thanks to this “gift”, with the imposition of hands it can help in resolving disorders and / or pathologies in a holistic way (holos = whole) term used to indicate an approach that tries to see people in their entirety, the individual in its entirety and not the sum of the parts, physical or psychic more or less sick, and it is thanks to this bioelectric potential that the pranotherapist can reactivate energy or psychic blocks.
Why does Pranotherapy work?
There are basically two schools of thought concerning the hypothesis that Pranotherapy has a real functioning that goes beyond the placebo effect:
- Energy hypothesis
For this kind of hypothesis, all living beings, being an integral part of the cosmos (consisting in turn of various forms of energy) need to implement their “vital energy”, their “prana” that for different reasons (trauma, psychic causes, various diseases) has fallen in level, thus generating various pathologies. In essence, it is as if the pranotherapist acted as a machine to recharge the “batteries” of the human body,
- Psychosomatic hypothesis
It is based on an imbalance of the psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunological system. This imbalance generates blocks of psychic origin, endocrine burdening the Immune System and rendering it incapable of facing attacks by viruses and pathologies. It therefore requires a synergy of revitalization of the various systems. What sensations can be felt? Most people who undergo pranotherapy experience different sensations, such as heat, heaviness, wind, cold, widespread well-being, feelings of mental emptiness, relaxation, tingling, electric currents.
Pranotherapy is not miraculous, but in some cases it can cure and in others, acting with medical prescriptions, it can facilitate recovery or facilitate the course of serious diseases.
